
Timothy Griffen joined Lazard Japan Asset Management in May 2005 and is now a representative director and chief investment officer. He started his career in 1986 with Cigna International in Tokyo as vice president and portfolio manager. In 1991 he moved to Draycott Partners in Boston before becoming CIO at Deutsche Trust Bank Japan and Scudder Investments Japan (Tokyo) between 1997 and 2005. He holds a degree in business and east Asian studies from Wittenberg University and an advanced Japanese language degree from Waseda University. He also holds a master’s in international finance from the University of South Carolina.
